Manchester is famous for its bustling and vibrant nightlife. As a student here you can expect to spend your university years heading to some great bars. Here is Compare Student Rooms top 5.

 

Dusk Til Pawn

Students in Manchester have been flocking to the Northern Quarter for years, the area is known for its vintage shops, cafes and of course great bars. Dusk Til Pawn is designed to replicate the feel of an old fashioned pawn shop. You and your housemates can enjoy free reign over the jukebox and classic cocktails. Big Hands

When you are at University in Manchester, it is highly likely you will take the trip up Oxford Road to the academy. On that journey students for years have seen the red neon lights of Big Hands, and been unable to resist this Manchester institution. Decorated in the style of an American saloon bar, this place delivers great music and a wide selection of beers creating the great atmosphere this bar was built upon.

Deaf Institute

The Deaf Institute is pivotal in Manchester’s iconic music scene, set over three floors and located just off Oxford Road, this is a hugely popular spot for students. Combing live music with sweet shop inspired cocktails and craft beer. Whilst offering great entertainment including open mics, pub quizzes and DJs if you are fancying something more livelily. Save your student loan by getting here between 4-7 and enjoy a bottle of wine for just £10. 

Sandbar

Not far from Manchester Metropolitan University campus, Sandbar has become a favourite with students. Throughout the week they put on live music, comedy, art exhibitions and the now famous on campus Sunday pub quiz. Sandbar offer stacks of entertainment with speciality beers and its predominately student crowd creates a great atmosphere. This is why Man Met students spend so much time here.

The Whiskey Jar

With a nod to Manchester’s industrial history, The Whiskey Jar is located in a restored textile mill. Now set over two floors, this venue plays host to bands, DJs and acoustic nights meaning there really is something for everyone. When the sun is shining they are even known to put on a barbeque in the outdoor area.  Students can make the most of 2-4-1 cocktails everyday between 4-7pm. So what are you waiting for?
